He was know for working for publishers illustrating books such as Cervantes’s Don Quixote, Edgar Allan Poe’s The Raven, Coleridge’s Rime of the Ancient Mariner, Milton’s Paradise Lost, Tennyson’s The Idylls of the King, and the Bible.
